Hay Field in Moonlight

I chose to do a painting on a moonlit night with subdued colors to contrast with the vibrant colors I’ve used in some recent sunrise paintings. I’ve used this field with hay bales in another stylized painting in daylight. These types of bales are prevalent in the Northeast and Midwest. My sister had a boyfreind from the “City” who had never seen hay bales before and asked what they were- with tongue in cheek she remarked ….”Oh they’re just cow blankets for the cows to sleep on.” We all got a good laugh about that and whenever I see the spun bales I think of that story she told.
