The inspiration for this painting came from a few photos I’ve taken in Camden Maine and Nantucket. Its a compilation of a twilight harbor scene with intense light red and deep blues just before sunset. I made a number of changes during the painting process before settling on the final. I set it aside or viewed it from the easel and then came back to it several times.

Overall about a month to paint with many breaks, sometimes a week at a time.
The palette colors included:
Cadmuim Red Light, Cobalt Blue, Titanium White, Alizarn Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Old Holland Blue Violet, Indanthrone Blue, Pthalo Green, Mangenese Violet and Cafmium Yellow Deep.
I’ll post a few stages here.

Thank you. I really like the color you use in your watercolors and the scenes you paint in Madrid. I have been thinking about selling my work online.

Mike you have really nice paintings. The hardest thing is letting go of a painting. If you have been thinking about selling online, you are ready to sell online.
