The Arno River is a sediment conveyor that carries massive amounts of soil with it as it meanders through beautiful Tuscan countrysides, past Villas and under iconic bridges. This oil painting on linen is 24 x 36 inches and is the view from the Uffizi Museum in Florence. The reference photograph was taken by me in 2002. The most difficult part was painting the river. There are about seven colors and three glazes used to make the river.

Beautiful interpretation! I really like the light and how you captured it. It makes the painting really come alive.

Thanks Catherine. I’m currently working on some lithographic images for an artists book; havent stopped painting but taking a break for awhile. I really like the portraits you have been painting. Thanks again.
